The third-party funded project “DEVCOBA – DEVeloping COllective BArgaining in the Care Sector” (grant of the European Commission in the field of industrial relations “DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion”, SOCPL 2022 IND REL; Grant Agreement no. 101126385) investigates working conditions, employment relations, labour regulations, and collective interest representation of employees in the care services (long-term care and early childhood education and care) in Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Spain. The project aims to examine the dynamics, mechanisms, and impacts of the development of collective bargaining and representation in both sub-sectors. Principal Investigator and co-ordinator is Prof. Anna Mori from the University of Milan (UNIMI). Further institutions involved are the University of Amsterdam (UVA), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the University of Bremen, the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI), the University of Copenhagen (FAOS), the European Public Service Union (EPSU), and the Federation of European Social Employers (FESE). As co-applicants in this project, Ruth Abramowski and Anna Hokema will carry out a case study on Germany in the fields of long-term care and early childhood education and care.
